I've been into cars since I was 18, when I started cleaning my own car, and those of my family and friends, to a really high standard.

Over the years, my interest grew until it became my passion and I trained as a detailer, researching and testing various products and developing my techniques to get optimum results.

Detailing in detail

If you’ve never heard of car detailing before, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s the same as valeting. But it’s far from it.

It’s a deep decontaminating clean, followed by painstaking polishing of tiny flaws in your paintwork, after which a high-gloss ceramic coating seals your vehicle and creates a head-turning mirror-like shine.

If you’ve invested in a quality car – especially a high-end model from a luxury marque – or you simply care about maintaining your vehicle, detailing improves its longevity and preserves its resale value too.

The detailing process

For most vehicles, detailing is a two-day transformation process.

First, I decontaminate the paintwork and wheels, removing all the dirt, tar, tree sap and iron filings from the brake pads that doesn't come off in a normal wash.

Next, I inspect the car under specialist lighting to pick up on even the tiniest flaws. Then I super-fine-polish the paint lacquer to remove any scratches, sanding marks, poor paint spraying and other common imperfections.

Finally, I apply a protective ceramic coating and polish it to perfection. Take a look at some of the cars I've transformed.
